RM of Reford’s story
The Rural Municipality of Reford No. 379 was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 12, 1910. It lies in west-central Saskatchewan, in Census Division No. 13 and SARM Division No. 6.
Within its boundaries is the village of Landis, along with several unincorporated communities and localities: Brass, Cathkin, Cavell, Leipzig, Reford, St. Alphege and Wolfe. Cavell was dissolved as a village on January 1, 1943, and Leipzig followed on February 1, 1984.
Today the RM is run by an elected council and an appointed administrator, who meet on the second Thursday of each month. The municipal office is in Wilkie. Highways 14, 656, 657, 659 and 784 cross the area, which is also served by both the Canadian Pacific and Canadian National railways.
